Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud struggled in the first half of Sunday's divisional playoff game. He threw four interceptions to a New England Patriots defense that was swarming from the start.

Two of the interceptions came courtesy of cornerback Carlton Davis. Both safety Craig Woodson and cornerback Marcus Jones grabbed the other two picks. Jones' interception turned into a pick-six and points on the board for New England.

The game had a sloppy first half of offensive football with the snow falling at Gillette Stadium. Along with Stroud's four interceptions, Patriots quarterback Drake Maye fumbled the ball three times with only one being lost. It was a battle of opportunistic defenses trying to give their offense an edge.

More importantly, the Patriots have been one of the more underrated defensive teams throughout the postseason. In the first half, they proved to the NFL world that they are for real this season.

They came into the game with the No. 3-ranked scoring defense and No. 6-ranked total defense in the league. It's a proud unit that has consistently stepped up and made plays in games.
